I’ll often describe what projects I’m working on to Becca; tell her what my bosses demands are, and just generally yap about work. Occasionally, she’ll try to help me out by providing some ground-breaking designs.

Her response to an invitation package where I was asked to combine a lemon, a martini glass, and the fountain at LC into an invitation…

Her response to a logo project I was working on, where the client requested some kind of “splatter”/”spray” design.

Finally, her interpretation of some retouching work I was doing. I had to change the stain on some wood chairs for a client’s furniture catalog. I had to change it from a light color wood to a very dark color wood in Photoshop.

friends bea & chris are gettin’ hitched next year, and I am the maid of honor! woo woo. a great couple, b&c live in philly and want to incorporate many philadelphia traditions (no, not heckling of small children at sporting events) into their wedding. inquiries have been made to local vendors, etc to help give a special hometown flair to their event….. so i started to play around with some playful designs, just for fun at this point. maybe for a save the date, maybe something could be used at a different part of the wedding planning process….but i thought, maybe these magnets would be cute. Philly pretzels, and TastyKakes are Philly institutions and so i thought that maybe something in this kitschy vein would be up their alley.

Obviously, we need to get a cheesesteak version too! Wit, or witout???

Also, Bea and I were kicking around a play on words for the pretzel idea – something about a love knot/philadelphia style/pretzel/tie the knot, but couldn’t really coin anything just yet.

Anyone have any suggestions for some kind of clever quip?

it doesn’t matter if that was clear (it was a letter R). i was wondering why that seemed so familiar to me. and its because I clearly scapped it from Roger Federer’s logo….

time to scrap unoriginal idea #2,399. i guess it’s not exactly like it, but its too close for me to be happy with it. back to work!

here are the edited photos for my friend’s engagement. this was my first ‘portrait’ session and tho i’m happy overall with how they came out, i definitely learned a lot from the process

the planning begins! one of my greatest friends Michelle is getting married to the wonderful Christopher! I’m in the wedding…along with Bea! another great cohort. Michelle asked me to do their save the date’s and of course I’m all in. I need to find some time to get together with them to do an actual portrait for them.

I started playing with the type and the numbers. luckily they have some great numbers that will be fun to play with while designing this.

GP Grad Party Invite

My little not-so-much-of-a-baby-anymore cousin GP is graduating from HS, and Aunt D asked me to design the invitation for his graduation party using a nice photo taken by a friend. Cool! well this week was a roller coaster of professional highs and lows, but I’m doing my best to keep my chin up and keep myself busy doing projects that are fun/interesting/challenging to me. Current job situation is decidedly not fun/completely boring/and not challenging.

A colleague referred me to a couple getting married this summer. They want a simple postcard save the date. Here is first round. They had pretty specific ideas on what they wanted – which simultaneously makes things easier and more difficult. Please note the copy on the back of the post card is not decided yet. Hehe those wild and crazy kids.
