Coasters!

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Vacay this year is in September at the OBX again, and Becca is coming which will be super fun to have my sidekick, and possibly even Sean too! If he remains gainfully unemployed! I want to make something for everyone to use at the beach and then they can take some home.

so here are some coasters, I made the crab in illustrator using the pen tool til my eyes wanted to fall out.

Holy Frijoles!

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

This is so such good. It’s adapted from something I had this weekend, but this is its Mexican cousin. We all have one of those.

Bean Salsa
1 can black beans, drained & rinsed
1 can black eyed peas, drained & rinsed
1 can petite diced tomatoes, drained
1 small box frozen corn
1/2 red bell pepper, diced
1/2 green bell pepper, diced
1 jalapeno, seeded and finely diced
1 small red onion, finely diced
1 clove of garlic, finely diced
1 handful of cilantro leaves, torn
2 limes
4 tbsp EVOO

Place frozen corn in large mixing bowl. Dice peppers, onion, jalapeno, garlic and add to bowl. Drain beans and rinse in a collander; add to bowl. Drain tomatoes a bit, leave a little juice; add to bowl. Tear cilantro and add to bowl. Juice 2 limes, add EVOO, salt & pepper to taste.

I’ve been looking for something like this!

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

I was reading my favorite food blog, Grub Street, and came across a posting for Mapfaced. It’s got listings of bar crawls in NYC and they are categorized into: The City’s Best Singles Scenes and The Best Bars For Doing Something Other Than Drinking (not going on that one)

Temple Univ. Architecture Program Design

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

My friend Scott just graduated from TU, with an architecture degree and he asked me to design the graduation program. Had to fit a TON of type on each page. So its all a little screwy because I had to rearrange pages to allow for a saddle stitch.

Roman Holiday

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

So I’ve decided. I’m going to Rome for at least one week next year. I’m thinking April/May because I want to avoid high tourist season (its prices and crowds). And I’ve had this idea to rent out an apartment while I’m there. I’ve been looking on craigslist and there are tons of places for less than $100 a night.

I can’t wait. I’ve been meaning to go abroad for a long time and I just need to set a date and do it! Anyone who wants to come is welcome!

Choo Choo

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

Man, work has been really crazy! We have someone starting on May 13, and it cant come any faster. I’ve been here way too long and not doing enough fun stuff during the week. Thankfully I have tomorrow off and I’m headed to b-more to hang out with MD Lops. Takin’ the train! I plan on sleeping, listening to my ipod and reading magazines. And it’ll only take 2 hours! yesssss.

If it keeps me off the New Jersey Turnpike – then i’m thrilled.

spring fever

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

It’s so nice out – i wish i could be outside. I feel like a kid in school – when the weather gets nice, you stop doing homework and studying and just get ready for summer break.

I’d like to reinstitute the summer break!
