So day 2 of diet, and I’m doing OK. I would really like a cheeseburger to be in my diet approved food list. ha!

testing the waters of diet-land

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

OK – So today is the first official day of my diet. I tried out some diet food last night tho and it was hit-or-miss. I made a kind of hash with carrots, zucchini, peppers, onions, with chicken sausage crumbled up in there. It was pretty good because I put some jalapenos in too. I could eat that again. I tried making mashed cauliflower. So – it didn’t turn out that great. I think that I shouldn’t have used frozen cauliflower. I think fresh cauliflower would give a better consistency. It was like ricey-mashed potatos. It is soooo not even close to the real thing – but again, it was eatable.

So my plan for this diet is as follows: Eat a bowl of special k for breakie, black coffee, 2 healthy snacks (carrots, or a reasonable serving of rice cakes, or a piece of fruit), have a salad for either lunch or dinner, and then a sensible but filling (v. important for me) 3rd meal. I haven’t figured out what I’m going to do about dessert but I think I could have like one cookie and some milk.

It’s so depressing isn’t it? But not as depressing as the size of me arse.

today, I got my hair done for a story one of our writers is doing on the stylists with the best reputation in Westchester. I loved the woman who did my hair, and I’ll definitely go back again. Nothing like having your hair done for the weekend, it’s great. here is a picture taken at work!

Enter Sandman

Yesterday my big boss took us underlings out to lunch to say thanks for the hard work we’ve done over the holidays. It was much appreciated. We go to The Cheesecake Factory in White Plains, and I’m eating my “weight management spicy chicken salad” (that was seriously depressing to order). I see some movement out of the corner of my eye, and I also see my boss start to freak out a little. I look up and its Mariano Rivera, one of the best closers in baseball history, walking into the Cheesecake Factory with about 7 kids and sitting at the booth next to me. He was on the inside of the booth, so he wasn’t easy to get at.

flare (flair?)

these are based on the sun flare idea. also because mariel shoots a lot of flowers, the sunflare could also be interpreted as a flower. as always colors and things are easily changeable…..

snaps!

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

okay, so it’s been way too long since i’ve had a chance to work on the snaps stuff for mariel for her etsy site. after looking at the site, it looks like they give you a horizontal space to the name of your store in, so I should design the logo in a way that it’ll work with that layout also. ……gonna do a little work on that right now…..

Monday, January 7th, 2008

oh man. I’m facing the beginning of another week of work. But tonight will be okay, because theres some good football on, and then a new season of No Reservation starts on the Travel Channel. Also, I got a new bourdain book for Chris Chris from Jenna. Bone in the Throat. It’s fiction, and I’ve never read any of his fiction. I’ll let you know how it goes. Here’s the cover (which I approve of):
