quick, easy, and cheap.

OK so its been a really long time – but the holidays came! it was a good christmas with everyone home. My nieces are pretty much the best girls ever. Ava is a true tali girl (she likes meatballs, sausages, and black olives). She even got some olives in her stocking. Maggie is a cutie and cries like a lady. Very delicately and politely. She rolled over a few times. Dad is retiring at the end of the month (thank goodness for him!) He is excited! Lets see…santa was really good to me and to the fam! we were a good bunch of lopano’s this year. I got an Anthony Bourdain book, a chopping block, and some new knives! So be prepared for more recipes/food blogging. Speaking of:

The quickest, easiest, cheapest (and good) soup.

Tortellini & Spinach Soup

1 bag of frozen tortellini
1/2 box of frozen chopped spinach
2 carrots, shredded
6 cups of chicken broth (or water with 2 buillon cubes)
Salt & Pepper to taste

Bring chicken broth to a rolling boil. Drop in tortellini. After 5 minutes or so, add the spinach and carrots. Let simmer for 10 minutes. Serve.

It’s good, yo!

Today was so christmasy, it was close to out of control. I woke up to about 3 inches of pretty snow and got outside to take pictures. And then, Lynn, Yasmin and I went to get out christmas tree from some very friendly firemen :) . happy holidays! Although we paid a very NY price for our tree, it looks great, and we had only minor difficulties with the lights. some were a little tempermental.
